Who We Are

Matt Saltzstein
Founder & Managing Director

Matt Saltzstein is an accomplished Brand Innovator that has delivered commercial impact for FMCG brands for the last 16 years. He is Founder and Managing Director at The Innovation Dividend, where he helps big consumer brands set strategy and deliver results through New Products & Services.

Matt setup The Innovation Dividend in 2014 because he thought the traditional relationship between brands and agencies was tired – built in a different time, and outdated with the way people and brands want to work today.

Today The Innovation Dividend is headquartered in Camden at The Atrium Interchange – a modern office space and community reflecting today’s startup culture. FTSE 100 companies such as Costa Coffee and Anheuser Busch InBev are key clients along with a growing client roster list.

Before taking the entrepreneurial leap, Matt cut his teeth at Kraft Foods in New York as a Brand Assistant in the Post Cereal division, where he learned General Management and Brand Marketing skills.

He eventually moved to Denver with MolsonCoors as Coors Light’s Brand Manager. During this time, he helped coordinate the team’s cross functional efforts for a £2 billion brand that jumped Miller Lite and Budweiser to become the #2 beer brand in America.

Matt then held a series of senior global marketing positions at SABMiller PLC in London, where he worked internationally on assignments in South Africa, Zambia, and across much of Europe. Most recently Matt was Brand/Innovation Director for MillerBrands in the United Kingdom & Ireland, where he led a portfolio of eight brands and helped Peroni Nastro Azzurro outline and implement an innovation strategy.

When Matt is not toiling away in North London, he is likely chasing his young daughter around or trying to find an hour to read the latest issue of Wired magazine. He is also partial to all things sport, historic pubs, and anything to do with Astronomy.

Matt holds an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University with concentrations in Innovation & Entrepreneurship, and a BBA with distinction from the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan.

Sector Passion: Sport

Team sports have long shaped my identify and leadership style. And I have been fortunate to work with the NFL, Major League Baseball and Stanford University’s Athletic Department in my career, so I have seen the impact great sports marketing can have on blue chip brands.

But it goes beyond business development too. For me, there is nothing quite like the thrill of using leadership lessons from the sports world to help unify and inspire people to greatness.
